Requirements & Skills
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Wisconsin.
- Proven experience in an Operating Room (OR) nursing role.
- Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing standards and protocols.
- Ability to provide comprehensive preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to patient safety and quality care.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical environment in compliance with health and safety standards.
- Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures by managing instruments and supplies.
- Monitor patient vital signs and condition before, during, and after surgery.
- Manage patient care documentation with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures and postoperative care.
- Collaborate closely with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education.
Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with OR nursing experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Familiarity with surgical instrumentation and perioperative processes.
- Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Compensation & Benefits
